Autumn Interior Design Trends 2020

The season of pumpkin spice and Halloween is back! If you are looking at redecorating and need some bedroom, living room or kitchen ideas, this Autumn’s trends are all about natural and neutral colours, comfort and adding lots of texture to a room.

Staying in is the new going out, so why not make sure you surround yourself with comforting yet stylish décor in your home this Autumn. Here we look at 5 interior trends of autumn 2020:

1. Spice Colours

Bring a relaxing warmth and depth into any room with earthy colours. Add a splash of pumpkin spice orange to your décor to warm up a white or grey modern interior, to bring some vibrancy and tranquillity to a traditional space.

2. Keep it neutral

A Neutral colour palette will never go out of style, it can be used time and time again but with a twist. It gives a calm and restfulness feel to any home.

Add furniture with a touch of luxury in different fabrics and fringing or a rug which adds colour as well as pattern. Bold patterns with a neutral colour pallet can be very creative and versatile which can work with any interior design. Smooth, matte finishes on tiles is another trend that deserves attention. Many people are moving away from the traditional glossy walls and are starting to experiment with different tile materials, textures and patterns.

3. Texture, Texture and More Texture

This Autumn season is not all about colours… textures are becoming more of an interest and are just as important. Layering up different textures in the same or similar colours is a perfect way to decorate your rooms without overdoing it. Cushions and blankets in a bedroom are a simple and obvious way of doing this, but also try bringing in textures with plants such as dried flowers which are a huge trend at the moment as well as prints and artwork.

4. Just a touch of marble

2019 was all about creating a spa like bathroom at home, but this year it’s all about bathroom ideas that are super stylish. The easiest way to achieve this is by using marble. This is a recurring trend in bathroom interiors due to its crisp and clean look with a very delicate pattern which provides a visual interest to homes whilst still keeping a minimal and luxurious look.

For a stylish statement, cover your walls in marble tiles or use it on the floor for a more luxurious feel.

5. Panelled Walls

Recently, panelling has been a huge trend and adds a lot more interest to a plain wall. Wall panelling is a trend that is not only attractive, but it is also practical as it can protect your walls and improve insulation as well as adding more colour, pattern and texture to your home. Upgrade the aesthetics in your home by panelling your walls in your kitchen, living area or hallway.
