2021 bedroom trends

As we are now just over halfway through 2021, what a better time to take a look back at the first half of the year and plan for the second half when it comes to redecorating your sanctuary. There are multiple ways to do this, here are the top 5 trends so far this year:

1. Goodbye clutter, hello calm

Your bedroom should be seen as a comfortable, tranquil sanctuary that enables you to switch off and recharge your batteries each day. If your room is full of clutter, subconsciously this will cause unneeded stress because you regard it as something that needs to be sorted and it will be the last thing you see before you sleep. Now is the time to clear the clutter and start calming.

2. Feeling all the textures

One huge trend we have seen this year is textures from wall panelling to textured bedspreads. The opportunities are endless when it comes to adding that bit of texture to your bedroom, it is so versatile and can add that extra comforting, warming feel to your room.

3. Sleeping on cloud nine

Moving on from textures. On the opposite side of the scale is pure white. All white bedding is a trend that will never go out of style. White bedding is said to help you sleep soundly. Replicate that luxurious hotel feel in the comfort of your own home by dressing your bed with crisp white sheets.

4. Multi-purpose room

In 2020/2021 a lot of people have had to multi-purpose their bedroom and turn it into a home office/bedroom. This can take away the relaxation feel when you are working and sleeping in the same room. Therefore, as everything is starting to ease, it is an ideal time to take a look at redecorating, repurposing and refreshing up that space. Moving the space around can make the world of difference.

5. Bring the outside in

If the last year has taught us anything, it is how important the outdoors is. Bringing that outside in will not only help you de-stress but it will also boost your mood. Using soothing colours such as greens and blues are both soothing and fresh and will bring the feeling of being in nature into the comfort of your own haven.

The second half of this year is all about focusing on relaxation, de-stressing and de-cluttering.
